About this course The Diploma in Graphic Design at DPLC is tailored in response to the demands of industry and to fulfill aspirations of highly motivated students. During the course, students are encouraged to develop creative, theoretical and technical skills with a focus on aesthetic and professional understanding. Diversity underpins the structure of the course with a cross-section of specific subjects covering all aspects of design, advertising and new media – including video applications.
What you study
In Year 1 you are able to experience the fundamental principles of graphic design. You are introduced to essential graphic languages and processes including drawing, image-making, typography, advertising, interaction, narrative and printmaking. During Year 2 you develop a distinctive body of work through your selection of project briefs. Here you may begin to specialize if you wish. You further develop your knowledge, strengths, professional and management skills and apply your ideas and processes to more complex creative projects.

Diploma in Graphic Design
You will be continually assessed through preparation of written and project work. Assessment in the final year is through huge project and portfolio.
You will graduate with a rigorous command of typography and information design as you enter employment as a competent visual communicator equipped to work in areas such as publishing, print design, way finding, exhibition design, corporate identity and branding, editorial design, and design project management.
